I am the Library Media Specialist and STEAM teacher at B.B. Comer Elementary School, where I enjoy inspiring students to read, explore, and discover new things. With 13 years of teaching experience, I have taught third grade, fourth grade, STEAM, and art before moving into my current role. My varied teaching experiences have helped shape my passion for creativity, hands-on learning, and helping every student find their own love of reading and learning.

I enjoy spending my time outside of school with my husband, Brian, and our son, Easton. Family life keeps me busy cheering from the sidelines at the baseball fields, tending to my garden, and caring for our chickens. Our two dogs, Lucy and Roscoe, are also beloved members of our family. Whether I am enjoying the outdoors, working in my garden, or making memories with my family, I love finding joy in the simple things in life!

I am passionate about creating a library and STEAM classroom where students feel welcomed, encouraged, and excited to learn. I love helping children discover their next favorite book, explore new interests, think creatively, and learn through hands-on experiences. Whether students are reading, building, experimenting, or solving problems, I strive to make learning fun, meaningful, and memorable.

I believe every child has unique talents and abilities and deserves opportunities to grow, explore, and shine. My goal is to inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning while helping students build confidence, curiosity, and creativity along the way.

I look forward to partnering with families throughout each school year and welcome parents to reach out with questions, ideas, or ways to support their child's learning journey. Together, we can make each year filled with reading, creativity, and discovery.

I am a proud graduate of B. B. Comer Memorial High School, where I attended kindergarten through 12th grade. It is truly a blessing to return to the school that helped shape me and give back to the students, families, and community that mean so much to me.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Tuskegee University and my Master of Social Work degree from Troy University. Before transitioning into school counseling, I gained valuable experience in the mental health field, where I developed a passion for helping others overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential.

As a school counselor, I believe every student deserves to feel safe, valued, supported, and encouraged to succeed. I am passionate about building strong relationships with students and their families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment, and helping students develop the academic, social, emotional, and personal skills they need to thrive. My goal is to advocate for student success, build meaningful relationships with students and families, and ensure every child knows they have someone in their corner cheering them on!

Outside of school, I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Eric, and we are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Harmony and Serenity. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with my family, cooking, singing, and playing softball. My favorite colors are purple, blue, and green. And, of course, ROLL TIDE!

I look forward to making a positive difference in the lives of our students each and every day. Go Tigers!
